Small factoid. . .this thread has more replies (this makes 795) than any other in "Blackberry Carrier Discussion" and 2nd in views (31,000+) to one other discussion. . . ironically its Is the Curve ever coming to Verizon? with 37000+ . . .but its been a week since anyone typed anything there so i'm sure this will take it at the rate this whole release date thing is going.

Just to set the record straight I (and others) did get emails from CS about the 4/20 release date. Could this change? Of course. But I don't think people need to "calm down" or anything. It is only a forum on a server somewhere. Bits and bytes baby. A little insanity is better to be expressed here then on top of a clock tower some where with a high powered rifle.

But truthfully if it comes out in the next 5-7 days I'll be cool. Realistically I just want to pick it up before I leave my current job, so i can get the company discount (21% off bill). I doubt sprint will keep up on whether or not I have stayed with the company since there are 10's of 1000's of employees world wide.

I'm curious to see that if it does in fact come out June 1st and ATT announces the 9000, for say July, who will make the jump?

It doesnt matter if its a forum on a server somewhere. People should calm down for their own health. Stress is NOT good. Calling Sprint 6 times a day is not healthy. Getting worked up over a date that was never set in stone makes me wonder how much some people would actually stress over real issues.

I gotta agree with you there. . . there should be a point where people say "ok, that's it" and take a breather, but like with everything, there are people that take things to extreme. . . simple fact.

Sweet. . .our little thread made crackberry front page. Anyone notice the "word from sprint reps" link goes right to Carolina? . . coincidence? aren't you the reputable one.

We made CB front-page news!!! Whether one agrees or disagrees with various postings, this thread has brought significant attention to this issue. Although I have several theories floating around in this thread; I too received an email stating 4/20. I think people want to bring attention to a company that seems to have mishandled their own branding "Sprint Speed!!!" If their own employees were claiming 4/20, I think at this point we can agree this has not been "Sprint Speed!"

I know-I know, I will be criticized for taking this angle and some will say "...the phone was not ready" or "...would you prefer to receive a defective product on 4/20?" And my answer is no, however, I would refute that by saying their communication was not "Sprint Speed!!!"

As a customer, I at least deserve consistency, quality and effort. Unfortunately, this situation has not demonstrated any of the above!!! As for the individuals that have called Sprint regularly, this is a result of the customer not being satisfied or "in the know" (arguably their posts helped this thread make CB front page). It should never be left up to the customer to do their own research after a Company commits to a date, the communication from the company should be "ON POINT" all the way around. The fact these die-hard customers have had to call is indicative of a company with a communication issue internally and externally (based on the reps that have emailed confirmations of a 4/20 launch/release a date).

Realistically, I feel 4/20 was a miscommunication by the company and customers (including myself) and I will go with Sprint's commitment of launching the device "...later this month" in April. Needless to say if Sprint launches the BB Curve 8330 in May or June, Verizon, Alltell and others will be applauding that always reliable "Sprint Speed!!!"

Just making a point...

Hey April launch is still very possible, I mean there are still 9 more days.
I'm confident Sprint will come through like they always have, for me anyways.
And if they don't, it'll be more for us in "Forum Land" to write and complain about.

Peace

I agree with those who said that people are going overboard, but if Sprint would just get everyone on the same page, then people would not call/email/chat every 5 minutes just to see what someone else would say. I don't believe this is just for the hype. The stupid phone has been out for other carriers for a long time. I do believe they are trying to make sure there are not too many bugs before releasing it and feeling the wrath of BB users who are pissed because of all kinds of issues.

In the end though, Sprint has done yet another terrible job of releasing the phones. They already lose points as they are usually last to get the newest phones(if at all) and then the poor communication at all levels is crazy. It is not that hard to get a 'memo' to all CSRs, dealers, telesales, etc to let them know to say the same thing, even if it is 'We are getting the curve sometime, but we don't know when.'

I have always liked Sprint's network and have had it for a long time, but their customer service alone regarding invoice issues, and now phones is enough for me to consider moving to someone else. Is it worth the hype or dis-organization to have that many people feel that way? I think not.

How much advertising is sprint planning on doing for this phone?

That's what had me worried about the release date. I have seen no marketing of this phone, and for something this good, you'd think they'd be having commercials, in store posters, etc.

I would think we should expect such thing before the release of this phone... Just seems strange that they would rely on word of mouth on cb!

I was working all weekend. Didn't get to catch up on posts. I just had a question:

What dudes that SWORE the phone was coming out on 4/20 have to eat crow???? There was some sure-minded people here. Don't know if they are boasting today.

Carry on my wayward sons. Rock on.
