Default Syncing gmail correctly onto Curve

This might sound dumb but I can't get my gmail app to sync correctly on my phone. the exact problem i am having is setting the correct time. It is always an hour OFF on my GMAIL APP on my phone. I searched all over and couldn't find a way to change the time on my gmail app.

Anybody know how to correct this????
I'm assuming I am just overlooking a setting somewhere

I don't know how the Gmail app polls for mail but why not just set it up without the app? You don't need the Gmail app to get Gmail on your blackberry.
