Default New 8900 for Wife

Hello,

I am thinking of getting an 8900 for my wife. She is on a $30/month plan. She uses only about 30 minutes a month and would not use very many e-mails either. She uses Yahoo mail now. Would she need a data plan to get yahoo mail on her phone. What is the cheapest data plan? Thanks!

She would need the data plan to access her email on her BB.

Yes she needs a data plan. It's 19.99 per month for data plan.

The $19.99 plan is gone.

They are now $24.99 for web only
$24.99 for web and 400 message

And $34.99 for unlimited web and messages.

She will have to have one of those to do emails.

To receive push email yes you need the data plan.
I have heard you can go online with wi-fi and surf, check email but you need to be in wi-fi coverage and the email will not be "pushed"

I have a grandfathered plan called:
"PREF BB BIS Addon" @19.95
with unlimited email and unlimited Internet (no messaging)
Ask for this code when you order.

If I add on: for line level they want $5 for 400 messages, $15 unlimited messages
For my family plan they want $20 for unlimited domestic messages.

I have the same plan, does yours show on on the web site for you? I just logged in and don't see it was added. I called and the rep said I do have that.

I wonder how T-Mo thinks this is a deal when if someone gets that 19.99 but wants unlimited texts, they are paying the same $34.95 as anyone else who signs up today and chooses that plan.

Or if they want 400 messages, it's the same $24.99. The deal is great if you have a family time messaging bundle or just want to pay $0.20 per msg, then you save $5. Outside of these two circumstances, I don't see much value in getting it.
