Default Flexpay service vs. post-paid contract service

I know that there are two coverage maps provided via T-Mobile, and I have tried comparing and contrasting the two, but I just do not see a difference.

Does anybody know off hand the "differences"?

With flex pay you pay in advance for evrything, phone, plan and features with post pay you just pay for the phone, plan and features are billed via monthly statement or you can do a the payment plan for the phone on post pay.

There are 2 flexplay plans, flexpay annual (contract=get discount pricing on handsets) flexplay monthly (full retail price for handsets= no sale price. with either of the flexpay options everything is paid in advance. nothing can be billed to the account.

Hope this answers your question..

This was what I was looking for, thank you. Why does T-Mobile show 2 separate maps then for either account if they are the same...?

From my understanding flex pay and prepaid are on the same map and is different from post paid. But flexpay and prepaid is about a 3% difference in coverage meaning flexpay is about 97% that of the post paid one. So in essence there really isn't much of a difference.

Hope that helps

Avoid Flexpay if you can... The customer service isn't fun. I can't understand a word those people are saying

I tried to start a new line with them, and after the approval check, they said "I was qualified for Flexpay"...(as if that was something exclusive). I'm only 20, but I had my own account with AT&T without a deposit, I've had a secured Visa for about a year, and a couple of random store credit cards (that were paid off on time all the time), and T-Mobile still shut me down. Grrr. Kill them.

Is Flexpay that bad? I have not committed to anything yet. I had them hold my potential account info over the phone, and they said they will have me on record until March 10th, so thats pretty much the decision day for me.

I got my Curve for free, so I can't really complain.

Only thing I am complaining on is not having a monthly discount due to Flexpay. Now that I know the service will barely (if not at all) be affected, I feel better about it.

The annoying thing about Flexpay is the outsourced customer service. You do get transferred to an American rep at some point, like for exchanges. But the first person you talk to is always someone in the Philippines
