Default BlackBerry Unlimited Web + 400 Messages Get unlimited Web access,

So I have been looking at Tmobile thinking about switching from Verizon for the 8900. I see they have two different blackberry plans...

BlackBerry Unlimited Web + 400 Messages
Get unlimited Web access, bundled with any 400 domestic messages.

Includes:
• Unlimited Web access
• 400 domestic text, picture, e-mail, or instant messages

and the unlimited everything (data wise).

Does the 400 message limit really count towards your BIS email? Thats kinda weird. I can see txt and picture, etc. but not email

It does not count against email. Email is the data plan. Text plan is texting only and some instant messaging. I know that you are not charged text if you use ICQ,Yahoo and some others. There is one or two that you are charged for if you use them but I do not know what they are.

Doesn't count against email. The 400 messages is for texts and MMS only. AIM and email doesn't use the messages.

On the T-mobile website it states that the 400 msgs counts e-mails, IM , text , picture...it clearly says that...r u all sure that it doesnt....Iam confused...it makes sense that emails r data but read the t-mobile website

Positive on that. Email doesn't count toward the messages.

If you want to be sure that you don't charged texts for IMing, then I suggest you get a better IM program for your berry, like BeeJive. It's much better than the built-in programs and it doesn't use text messages - data only. It works when you're on Wi-Fi too!

Definitely correct. Email does not count against SMS or MMS with T-Mo. Had that exact plan until recently.

So what is the best way to use only the Blackberry Unlimited Web ($24.99) and still be able to email & IM w/out counting against our text messaging?

IM does count against your text messages unless you use a program like BeeJive.

I'm on that exact plan and my blackberry emails and my gmail pushed emails are not counting as texts. I haven't checked into beejive but people seem to like it.

BlackBerry Unlimited Web + Unlimited Messages
Get unlimited communication capabilities, with unlimited Web access and domestic messages. Includes Unlimited Web access, Unlimited domestic text, picture, and instant messages, and Unlimited personal e-mail

$34.99

That is the plan I have and recommended if your use a lot of data / messages. Also with t-mobile you don't have an extra fee to use your berry as a tethered modem. Also you don't have a 5gig monthly cap to use your berry as a tethered modem.

You're incorrect. IM, which includes BBM, AIM, and Yahoo, does NOT count against your allotted text messages because it uses the unlimited data plan. I have confirmed this with TMo. In addition, my last bill did NOT reflect the THOUSANDS of IM msgs I had sent and received. Read this post: Do instant messages use data or text messages for a blackberry 8900?

Okay, I'm exaggerating with the "thousands" but I must have sent close to a thousand last month and not the 50 texts that TMo billed me for. I'm on the 400 plan.

I'm on a family plan with unlimited texting and I pay 20.00 for my bb plan, and yes IMing does count as texting. Emailing is through the data plan.

If you use the im messengers that come installed on the 8900 they use data only not text . I've had tmobile and the 400 plan for years and I know for a fact that they are data only. I send and receive around 500 ims a day and only use around 30 txts a month .
