Disabling content protection seems to work around this issue.
Loaded perfect. Make sure you delete the vendor file. Yes, the call timer is back which helps. I'll be monitoring the memory, but mine always seems to drop pretty quick because of weathereye I believe.
I like to have the latest software, but it's up to you. If you're comfortable with what you are running, stay with it. As you see my post above the 1st finding is true about the call timer reappearing.
Kyle, just you have make sure you have a good connection, it'll go through . So far my battery life has been amazing. Never had it this good. The only charge was the OS install, and that was 7 hrs ago. I'm @ 55% with emails pretty much all day...

calendar did not restore correctly
During the upgrade the calendar did not restore at all (and error message was displayed informing me of this). When I manually restored it, all of the entries were placed in the default calendar instead of the proper calendars (im on BIS).
Power Off icon cannot be hidden
I'll report on memory usage and battery usage after running for a day

Could be just me my my GPS is now working very fast ( locking in my location)
before I upgraded my GPS could take as long as 20 minutes to find a Satellite and never inside my house. But this has all changed from my living room I get locked in.

I just checked this, and it does appear to be faster, and to get a lock in places that didn't work before. The accuracy of the location appears to have decreased in these places though (i haven't tried outside yet). From in my office google maps reports my location within 70 to 100 meters (before it would rarely get a lock).
Perhaps there were some fixes to the aGPS functionality of the device.
Just got my 8830 a few days ago and i'm already upgrading the software for the second time. I'm on the last step now so I'll let ya'll know if I brick the berry shortly. Berry exciting times!!
-Ok, that didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would, less than 30 minutes.
So I did the upgrade and it seems to have taken very well. I went and found Crackmem posted by Pete6 and used that to aid in the installation process of this version and aside from the fact that I had absolutely nothing else going on with the computer other than the OS upgrade, it went pretty flawlessly. I had to go back and re-accept a few licenses but those were trivial things. The only thing I've found so far is that under Options/About.......yeah I can't open that. Everything else works just fine.
