A "code" specific to each BB. You can use it to IM via BBmessenger. Go to Options>Status>PIN

A unique Identifier given to each Blackberry when manufactured.
It allows for some very fast and secure messaging as wel as identifies your BB to BIS/BES

Using your PIN for communications (example: BB messenger) helps you keep your privacy rather than giving out your phone number.

Been looking and looking for an anwser here... Everyone says PRIVATE messaging and I can understand that if you are not on an enterprise server where your company has rights to everything in and out.

The question is, if you have a BB and have your friends pin, how easy is it to track or break into the messaging?

Basically SMS, MMS, and E-mail are easy hacks, but what about pin to pin??

I thought that was all on BB server therefore harder to trace.

After all... privacy is a virtue. )
