On my older 8700, after I would check my voicemails, the voicemail SMS would self-erase.
Now, with my 8310 Curve (running 4.5 firmware), the SMS message won't erase automatically after I check the messages. The voicemail icon at the top of the screen goes away, but the SMS is still there. It's kind of annoying having to erase it manually each time.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    I'm on Rogers.

Do you want the SMS showing up? cuz that can be disabled..

Phone Log, options, call logging, then change to none, and you wont get a text either. still the VM alert tone and your icon though..

This is not correct. This only prevents missed calls from going to your sms inbox. You will still receive voicemail notifications.

My logic was, if the SMS call notification logging is off, it wouldnt log the vm in the sms folder, mine doesnt, so I thought that was the solution.

Thanks for the answers guys, but I still want the voicemail SMS to show up like it did on my old BB. I just want it to self-erase after I have checked my voicemail (like it used to).

Same boat. I have a Sprint 8330, call logging is set to none, but I still get an sms text when I get a voice mail. I just manually delete it.

This is strange... my older Blackberry self-erased them every single time after I checked my voicemail. I have no clue why the 8310 won't do it. The unit is direct from Rogers, not an unlocked model or anything like that.

As far as T-Mobile goes they haven't used SMS Voicemail notification in years - - they changed their voicemail system quite some time ago.
    It's Carrier dependent.

Yeah, Ive narrowed that down in the past week or so since this thread..

Its a carrier thing for sure.
