Default voice call quality is horrible on my verizon 8330

Hi,
I'm on verizon, and I got my BB 8330 curve a month ago. The voice call quality has been HORRIBLE. The person on the other side can hear me fine, but I have alot of problems hearing them. The sound quality seems to go in and out, there's random static, and it constantly sounds like the call is about to be dropped. It doesn't matter who the caller is either...it's across the board.

I've had this problem since I got the phone, so I went to the store a week ago to get the phone exchanged for another one. This new one has the SAME problem. I have full bars, I've done the *228 option 2 roaming update, and I've pulled the battery and no dice.

Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same phone with the same carrier(Verizon). I used to have a hard time hearing people. Since I upgraded my OS I can hear everyone really good and have had no dropped calls either. What OS are you running on your phone?

Zero

I just seem to have terrible reception with my vzw 8330. I have at least 2 or 3 dropped calls a day

I too have an 8330 with vzw. And have static problems in the earpiece. Almost sounds like my speaker is blown. But it doesn't do it all the time. I am running os .160

Since you have have had the device replaced and the samething is happening and if you are .77, then I would contact VZW and have a tech run th trouble shooting for voice issues. If they cannot resolve it, then they will fill out a trouble ticket to see if it is an account issue or network issue in your area.

If you are running a version not supported by VZW they will not assist. If you are running 4.3 then get the 4.5 upgrade.

That OS is known to have the sound during the calls.. It is also known to drop your profiles as well. I had that for a couple days and it worked okay but I could not stand the sound myself. I would suggest you go to Sprints 4.5.0.131 or use the Hybrid that I have. You can find both here on Crackberry. I dont have the links right now to give you, sorry.

.131 is the most reliable, or check this out http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/833...d-beta-245836/
