Default video (youtube) on OS 4.5 (8320)

So, I installed OS 4.5 on my tmobile 8320, and for some reason youtube won't load. I can get to the site, I click a video, and when it opens (for some reason it goes to the media player... is that right?) it starts to load, then says "an error has occurred attempting to play media"

That all seems correct... except for the error

I have OS 4.5.0.52 on my 8320 as well... I go into YouTube (Mobile version)... and then it loads the video in Media Player... and then it plays

Are you on EDGE or WiFi?

hmmm... nice theme

And it should work on WiFi (and even EDGE). Weird... you said you did a battery pull. I honestly do not know what to say...

actually, it was unintentional. gonna try again, that might be it.

<edit>

nope, definitely did not work.

uh.... yeah. any thoughts what it might be? Are there any options i might need to flip?

<edit 2> gonna try reinstalling OS 4.5 unless someone can think of something. it's gonna take 30 mins to re-download.

i don't suppose the encoding option has anything to do with it? mine is set to auto mode, with default charset ISO-8859-1

No, that is the correct setting. Have you tries pulling the battery right before you get the error?

nope. guess i'll try that. would much prefer a fix like that to reloading the OS lol. though it's incredibly brutish.

<edit>

no luck. trying break.com to get an idea if it will play that.

looking like a reload OS situation though, since it seems other people are able to run youtube w/ 4.5

so, OS 4.5 doesn't reinstall so easily... adding MDS runtime, though i doubt that's it.

any other suggestions?

yea, i'd love to get this sorted.

well, currently here's what i've discovered.

Browser config is the same as the "standard Wifi setup" guide.

Battery Pull didn't work.
Battery Pull right before error doesn't work (though, i might be timing it poorly)
Installing the MDS runtime didn't work.
Clearing cache, so far, hasn't really helped either. though it got the two random crashes as i tried to start the media player.
