Default SMS Text Tune

Guys - In my active profile I've set an mp3 as the ringer when I receive a text message. However, when I get one my Curve beeps once and doesn't play the song at all. I've missed quite a few because I don't hear the single beep. It plays the correct mp3 for a phone call but for some reason doesn't want to play it for a message. Please help...

To my knowledge the curve will not access a mp3 from a mem card to use as a ringer. I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive this is the case unfortunatley!

I have a curve and half of my contacts have mp3 ringtones. I haven't tried it for a text message, but I know for a fact that mine works for incomming calls. What I did is when I went into profiles and went to vibe and tone. for the tone I had to go to browse and then picked a mp3 that was on my memory card.

Question

Can you use the pre-loaded tones to change your sms tone; if so, how? This is my 1st BB, and I've yet to figure out how in the past cpl of days.

Thx in advance.

Okay - it works with about 5 of the 30 songs I have on my SD card. I don't really know why it doesn't like the others, the only thing I can think of is that there's some sort of song length restriction

Exclamation

Go to "advanced" in your "profiles" section, and press the button next to your talk button and select "edit". You'll see what to do from there.
