This download is from Cellular South but will work on ANY carrier's 8330 model BB. (This does included 8330m)
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file. (You can also just open Desktop Manager, but starting with the Loader.exe file just eliminates certain "goofiness".
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization." During this time, do NOT freak out and unplug your BB.
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device. For explicit instructions, click here.

After receiving this email, I decided to go out and check for updates on RIM's BlackBerry - Update your Device Software site and to my surprise, I found .169 waiting for my 8330. I didn't download and install yet because I'm running a hybrid, which I know is far better than the standard OS install. I said select carriers, because all carriers don't allow auto updates for their devices. I'm with Cellular South and it was available for me. Happy Downloading

Reason: added OS install instructions
Just checked, it came up with .77 (downgrade) and .138 (current) but nothing else
Look like Verizon's out of the picture. I wonder how long will it before it shows up on Carrier's sites? I thought .160 was the latest for the 8330 but apparently not.
