my 8310 curve went blank and is flashing red lights (two consecutive times then a long pause over and over again.)
it was the first time after downloading the newest desktop manager and also downloading the proper ATT 8310 software for the phone.
i installed both fine then when i hooked up my curve to the usb and it prompted me to update my phone. i said yes and was off..
after that when it was in process of updating it says there was a fatal error and to try it again...it did 3 more times...on the third time i was looking away from my computer and when i turned back to the phone it was blank!!
what did i do? what can i do to fix this? i already took the battery off and put it back on and it stayed the same...
hahaha, the good thing about being screwed, you have the choice to either crank it to the left or to the right. Just follow JC's advise and go from there. If it doesn't work (which I doubt), just let me know and I will do something dreadful to JC. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
thanks jsanders...im still doing it over and over lol...since i keep thinking that im doing something wrong instead of blaming the instructions...(mostly i am doing something wrong)
i effin got it to work...thanks to everyone on this thread trying to help me out and specially John!!!
my damn USB cable was the problem...it was probably the reason it got messed up in the first place!!!
oh man what a relief...thanks again...
I was getting the "Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]" also and tried reloading the OS over and over again to no avail. As a last ditch effort, I came across this post and tried a different USB cable. IT WORKED!! I have no idea why but it went passed the error and continued with installation. I now have a functioning blackberry!
