same problem here. I can play audio files, but no matter what video format, it will not play. The counter will not increment and I get no audio or video. Have tried 3gp, mp4 (h.263), mp4 (h.264). I wonder if it is a Verizon Curve issue... Have contacted developer, awaiting reply. Will post solution if found.

Same here. I am using TMOB curve 8320.

Xplayer will not play my AVI files. I have not tried anyother other format.
xPlayer plays nothing ? by GingerBeerOne 09:13 PM 06-07-2008 -- [Reply]
I can add my voice to this too. I was scouring the web looking for an alternative to havnig to convert media into mp4 or 3GP, and xPlayer from Shape claims to be able to play video in not only 3GP or MP4 but also in wma, avi, etc.

So I downloaded it (used the OTA link), tried it, it wouldn't play any video, neither 3GP nor AVI. I rebooted. I removed it, reinstalled it, same results.

At least I take comfort knowing I am not the only one!!

My Blackberry is a 8330 with Telus.

It may have something to do with the dimension of the movie. I just played an AVI that was 600x322. I can't recall were I saw something that stated what the max dimension for the Xplayer was so I just choose a small one and it worked.

Same issue - the xplayer see's and pulls the videos/songs from my SD card, however, when it's time to play it just shows me "0:00" and doesn't play anything. It say's it on play mode, however, the timer doesn't change nor doesn't anything really play.

same, Ive never been able to play a file with it - Im guessing it might be a curve issue.

Has anyone solved this problem? I'm having the same issue. My video files are all mp4 files (400kbps,24fps) and they work great in the native player as well as my trial of mediaPlayer. I really want them to work in xPlayer though.
I did try encoding one file to 600x322 per the above recommendation but it didn't help.
I have a curve 8330 with OS 4.3, and I've tried xPlayer 1.0.1 as well as the new beta 1.1.7. They both say they work with the Curve - although I did notice on their site they only specify they work with OS 4.2
I'm wondering if this is maybe an OS 4.3 thing? Has anyone actually gotten video to work in xPlayer on a curve 8330 with OS 4.3?

Hello,

There is a beta-testing of xPlayer going on. Please see the thread xPlayer: now with Internet radio functionality! Need beta testers!

If you do not want to participate in beta testing you can use the latest full version of xPlayer v.1.0.1. Most issues mentioned above were already fixed such as the counter staying at zero.

Unfortunately, at the moment we can not explain why xPlayer doesn't work correctly with Verizon users. We will be investigating this issue and hope to solve it, will inform you right away.

For the best playback of audio and video they are advised to be converted to the supported formats: mp3, m4a, avi, mp4, 3gp, wma, amr, mid, wav and a small dimension to be set such as 600x322.

Best regards,
Irene

I have a Sprint 8330 and have the same problem. I downloaded 1.1.10 (latest beta), I can play audio and the internet radio works just fine. I am unable to play any videos. I have converted them to 320x240 and no luck, nothing happens and the counter stays at 0:00.

stevetrooper,

Are you available to play the same file with the BlackBerry Media Player? If yes, we recommend youto wait for the full released version of the xPlayer.
Video sound does not come through bluetooth. by ghatrif 04:16 PM 07-24-2008 -- [Reply]
Hello, the new beta version is wonderful except of an annoying thing that the sound of video will keep coming from the speakers although I have set the audiopath to the bluetooth device. anyone faced similar problems?
