is there a way to force your 8300/8310 onto other networks? or to make it go into a field test mode where it will at least show you the other available networks? im on ATT btw.

Have your tried manual mode from networks settings. If your BB by any change sees another network it should show you.

evidentally there is no "selection mode" for the ATT model. thats why im trying to find out which OS i need to get, or if there is a code i need to enter in for it to show up

    heres what i get..

i goto manage connections->network options-> then my only 2 choices are to turn data services: on/off/or off while roaming. and for mobile network it just says ATT and under my menu i can run a diagnostics test. there is no network select.

anyone that has an idea of how i can get that, that would be great

    BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.259 (Multilanguage)

    Package Version: 4.2.2.259
    Consisting of:
    • Applications: 4.2.2.141
    • Software Platform: 2.4.0.62
    • File name: 8300M_PBr4.2.2_rel259_PL2.4.0.62_A4.2.2.141_Rogers _Wireless.exe
    • File size: 78.07MB
I have both OS's and the Rogers ones ALWAYS runs faster then the AT&T ones, same thing on my Pearls as well (AT&T Unlocked Pearls Running Rogers OS)...Rogers loads next to nothing for extra stuff on their OS's where as AT&T tries to sell you everything through their bogged down OS.

Just do a backup and everything should be fine...then of course reload the back up.

    Download...install...remove the Vendor.xml file from C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files/OS HERE.

Run desktop manager and it will ask you to update/replace the OS..follow the on screen instructions and make sure ya do your backup.
