Thanks for your post! Great to have a graphic like that! I can't wait for the 32GB to come out so the 16GB $ goes down.

Yes it will work. HC stands for High Capacity.

Have a look at this post
http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/micr...c-cards-46673/. The link is also in my signature.

The information you show comes directly from a RIM teschnical publication BlackBerry Search Results which has been posted many time as well.

Please search before you post this stuff. It is just another duplicate post. I know you were trying to help so, no problem.

I say you should try reformating it again, the thing is you never get what it says on the card. You always get a bit less due to some weird reason, I would not like to get all geeky

But try reformating your memory card again

I'll go ahead and be all geeky

There are 8 bits in a byte. This is important because that's what all the other math a computer (including your berry) does is based on. There are 1024 bytes in a kilobyte, and 1024KB in a megabyte (1,048,576 bytes). A gigabyte is equal to 1024MB, or 1,073,741,824 bytes. Therefore, as far as your berry is concerned, 8GB is 8,589,934,612 bytes. However, storage manufacturers (it doesn't matter whether you're talking about SD cards, CF cards, hard drives, DVD-ROMs, etc... All storage) label their devices in equal millions or billions of bytes. For example, a 650MB CD-ROM holds 650,000,000 bytes. A 2GB Memory Stick holds 2,000,000,000 bytes. So, your 8GB micro SD card holds 8,000,000,000 bytes, or roughly 7.5GB.

I have a quick question: Will I be able to upgrade to 4.6 on my AT&T Curve 8310 when it comes out?

There won't be an OS 4.6 for the Curve. OS 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 are of the same generation, just for different families of devices. As this article notes, there will be an OS 5 that will put all devices on the same or similar platform:BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0 Makes an Appearance | CrackBerry.com

Thanks, will that mean it will accept a 32gb micro SD card when OS 5.0 is out?

If the guide is correct, and if they release 5.0 for the curve, then yes

I am unable to format my media card ever since I downloaded the 4.5 version for Curve? When I try to see my music, there's nothing there as if the card is empty, but it's not empty because I can see my music on the computer. Can someone tell me what to do? I don't know how to format...Thanks!

Go to Options > Media card.

From there turn on Media Card Support and enable Mass Storage Mode. While there, press the Menu button and Format Card.

    Reload your music.

I encounter the same problem. And worst, the menu button does not work at all. It couldn't format the card and it kept saying format fails. I manage to format the card on my bold, but when I put it back to curve, it still says to format the card. I am using 8310 version 4.5.0.83. Does anyone have the same problem like me?
