I got mine to to work as well. It's nice to be running on BBM 5 and I really like the new layout.

When I opened the zip files, i copied the .cod files to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8330-v4.5.0.138_P3.4.0.30\Java" (your folder may be different) and let it overwrite the previous files. The alx file I put in the folder before the Java folder.

I just installed it on my 8330......install went no through with no problems......

So far it looks sweeeeeettt

Here are the instructions I followed from another web site

I downloaded the zip file from the 1st post.

I unzipped the file and saved it to My Documents\Blackberry\BBM 5.0

When i did this, it created a sub folder called: BBM_4.7.0 (My Documents\Blackberry\BBM 5.0\BBM_4.7.0)

I connected via Desktop manager, and clicked "application loader"

Then clicked "start" under "Add/Remove Applications"

Then clicked on "browse"

I opened an "Open" window and I went to My Documents\Blackberry\BBM 5.0\BBM_4.7.0 and in there is the file BlackberryMessenger.alx

Click that file and it will load from there.

I hope this helps some for everyone having questions. Let me know if you need any clarifying.

I got a warning that it was not compatible with my wifes curve, but it loaded. Its on there, but no icon. Cant find it to get it to work.

Can you at least get to it by hitting the 'n' on the home screen? Cuz if I can at least do that then I won't care about the missing icon. lol

i went to this site

downloaded the 83xx
then i unrar the file using winrar
then i opened up desktop manager-app loader-add/remove app-browse.
then i clicked on the folder that i just unrared and clicked the alx. file and then it loaded then bam i got the new bbm
