Default BB Desktop software installation

Quick newbie question --- does the BB Desktop software come in the box with a new Curve? Our company is not running BES and I need to sync Outlook with my business email. From what I've seen in the forum, BBDS is needed to accomplish this.

We're running Microsoft XP Prof v5.1 w/SP2. I tried to find that software online in advance of the distribution of the devices, however could not determine what version is best to use with a Curve and my OS.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes. It should be Desktop Manager 4.2.*

Default BB Desktop vs. Device Manager

Navliyn -

Is the BB Desktop the same as the BB Device Manager? I downloaded v4.2 as suggested.

Is this software what is used to sync Outlook files between the PC and the BB?

I should receive the BB Curve in the next week or so from work and wanted to get familiar with the software ahead of time. Although I downloaded it successfully, I can't seem to open it w/o the BB connected via USB.

If I'm missing something here - please advise.

Thanks for the quick response and help.
