- Yes! I've read stories where people think the LED will be offset, but its not. There's just some slight spacing between the front and top of the housing, but that's it!

- Very interesting indeed... and I couldn't wait to dump my Verizon silver 8330 housing. It's collecting dust right now in my drawer.02-01-09 03:38 AMLike 0

- I really liked the 8330 look, with the black buttons and all. So, I found a housing on amazon for cheap and tried it.
02-01-09 01:59 PMLike 0 - Wow that looks hott good job I love the black top row keys aswell
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com02-01-09 02:34 PMLike 0 - I also did the 8320 to 8330 swap, and all experiences just like yours except I didn't take photos. (I made a thread, but can't link it at the moment because of my low post count)
Anyways, where did you get your housing from? I got mine from UK-Hitech seller on ebay, and it was JUNK quality on every piece.02-07-09 01:34 PMLike 0 - To eliminate the space between the housing and the infrastructure, you simply have to tighten the screws, be careful not to turn to hard as you will break the plastic infrastructure. Nice job!!!02-07-09 03:45 PMLike 0

- just curious if you got the the 8310 keyboard tray (with the 4 top home key buttons) to fit perfectly in the 8330 housing????02-13-09 02:27 AMLike 0
- in the 2nd pic it looks as if the black part around the screen is bulging out, or is that just the angle? nice work, I really want to get another housing but I'm afraid to take off my original case cause of screen dust. but I'd totally do it for a black 8330 housing.02-13-09 02:34 AMLike 0

The OP mentioned getting the black keypad which is the QWERTY part. Notice the keypad in the pics are from the 8310 (silver). He wants to get the black keypad so that it will look like an OEM 8330.02-13-09 02:38 AMLike 0 - in the 2nd pic it looks as if the black part around the screen is bulging out, or is that just the angle? nice work, I really want to get another housing but I'm afraid to take off my original case cause of screen dust. but I'd totally do it for a black 8330 housing.

RIMTUCK mentions that the rubber gasket inside the faceplate near the earpiece needs to be removed as the clearance between the 8330 faceplate and the earpiece speaker is smaller than with the 8310/8320 so the screen might just be a little bulged out if the rubber gasket wasn't removed.02-13-09 02:43 AMLike 0 - I think the whole point of doing the swap with the 8330 housing is to use the black home key buttons from the 8330, no?

I know the keypads are interchangable.. but I not 100% on the keyboard tray02-13-09 03:22 AMLike 0 - There was no mention of the swapping of the keyboard tray (but other threads have said 8310 + 8320 keyboard trays wont work in a 8330).. The OP just talked about the housing itself. I ask the question because I would rather have silver home keys for my 8330 than the black.

02-13-09 03:54 AMLike 0 - And yes, the 8310/8320 home row keys won't fit in a 8330 housing because they are shaped differently (straight sides on the Phone and End Call keys).

I've always wanted to install the 8330 housing on my 8320 but was upset by the previous "myths" that the 8330 housings wouldn't fit on other curves. So thanks again, now i'm on the process of purchasing an 8330 housing for my 8320 but I was wondering if the 8330 side rails and bottom clip are a universal fit for all blackberry curves (8300,8310, and specifically the 8320). I'm going to be keeping my 8320 central housing as it is, so all I'll be changing is the front housing, back door, side rails, keypad, etc., everything but the center housing. I really want to get the side rails switched up as they've received some beatings. I'm planning on purchasing an 8330 housing that comes with the side rails and a "bell" bottom clip. I'd like use the 8330 side rails but i'm unsure if they'd fit, and I also want to keep my 8320 "T-mobile bottom" clip to use on the 8330 housing. Don't know if all that would work out. I'm not all that keen on buying new side rails either if I can't use the 8330 side rails that come with the housing i'm about to buy.
Thanks again for your post, and thanks in advance for any help that anyone can offer.03-13-09 06:27 AMLike 0
