i have an error that comes up when i load the desktop software for my new storm. please help!

It's a windows error. If you have Mcafee, turn it off then install

I turned off my antivirus software and tried to reinstall the blackberry software and I got the same error

Those files are part of the data connections.

Were you able to install BlackBerry Desktop Software?

The best test is doing a Backup, that will insure everything is working correctly.

I have the same problem - can't get any DM to install other than 4.2.

Yep, got all that and I still get the error .

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Once it is installed, run it and remove any reference to RIM and/or
Blackberry, close the program, restart the PC and try again.
