Default Is BES worth it?

I am a techie at heart who is in the process of selling a business. In the business (60 employees) we had a exchange/BES and I largely administered both. I started to setup a server for home with exchange/BES but started wondering if it was worth it for just my wife and I (in terms of my time - I already have the licenses). I've been using outlook/exchange/blackberry for years and love it. But lately I've been trying to simplify life and free my time up. So if I don't do exchange/BES what will I be missing? So far my research seems to suggest no wireless sync of contacts/calendar with BIS/redirector. Is that correct? Anything else I'll miss?

I've thought about just going to something like gmail but I have so much information in outlook that I hate to lose and as I understand it the sync isn't great. Anyone try this?

I don't know how to respond. From the sounds of it you hate to give it up, but..... Unless you're on 5.x of BES you'll have to give it up eventually or be prepared to shell out the $$$$. I could see an individual going the BPS route, but you give up so much compared to BES.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in outsourcing your BES. I started doing it for family/friends a few years ago and have since made a legit business out of it. Since it's a side gig for me my prices are way below market. All the equipment is in a colo facility so uptime is 99.99%

If you'd to try before you buy that's an option as well.
