Default BES 5.0 subfolder contacts

Hi,

I have a user who have a lot of subgroup in Contacts.
In BES 5.0, all those are check to be sync wireless. The problem is in Contacts, he have noting. Ex:
-Contacts (0)
-sub1(34)
-sub2(12)
-sub3(111)
-sub4(30)
-sub4.1(21)
-sub4.2(7)

On the device, i'm not able to view those subfolder. But i do i sync with Blackberry Desktop Manager, remove wireless sync on device and then i receive all contacts (384). I put back wireless sync at Yes and try to add a contact in his outlook, but doesn't sync...

All features work great except this. Did you have any suggestion to help me ?

I have the same issue. I called RIM on it and they had me wipe and reactivate the device. The problem is, that this is happening for all the users I have on it so far (10, moving toward 30) so it doesn't seem practical. It's BES 5.0 for Exchange with MR1 installed. It also doesn't make sense to activate, wipe, reactivate virtually back to back. Most of the users have between 3000 and 5000 contacts and some aren't getting any at all. I wiped the CEO's handheld twice to get it to work but surely there is a more elegant way. Most of the users have their contacts setup similar:
Contacts (0 or a few items)
- Sub folder 1 (1000+)
- Sub folder 2 (hundreds...)
- etc.

I'm still pursuing the issue, thus far RIM has been less than stellar on this one as they keep telling me I must have the contacts in PST files and that's why it's not working.

You may want to perform a good old service book trick.
You will need to delete and *immediately* undelete each of the following service books on the device:
1. Desktop [SYNC] - it may be called something other than "Desktop" in your case.
2. Desktop [OTASL]

Please note: it is important that you "undelete" immediately after deleting it. Then on BES resend the Service Book for the user.

I tried the delete Desktop[SYNC] and undelete with a resend of the service book but it didn't help. Ultimately, I deleted the user from BES and wiped the handheld and re-activated which worked. The only thing that comes to mind is that the user was activated in BES prior to the creation of the subfolders. I did two other users where I made sure the subfolders were there first then created without issue. In all I have 12 users so far and it's working for only 7 of them. The others I think I'll have to delete, wipe and reactivate.

Having same issue here. BES 4.1.6 upgraded to 5.0. Some users are adding subfolders with contacts in them and all of a sudden they are not able to sync contacts anymore. No errors in the logs that I can find.

*edit*

Noone else really>? This really how this works? "the user was activated in BES prior to the creation of the subfolders."

So whenever someone creates a new sub-folder they have to REACTIVATE??????? no way....
