the easiest way to do it is OTA. There is one and free of charge.

But for the OP, unnecessary. The 8100 has an LED that
allows for s/ware to change its color. No need to take
anything apart.

Pimp my pearl is 5 bucks! The one I saw was free. There ws one for desktop and one for OTA. Its much simpler to do it OTA. I just can't remember the link where I got mine.

The app at the top of the page will make it brighter, but it wont be quite the same colour....but it can be turned off or removed anyway, give it a go my friend lol.

Is only the 8100 able to do this color change via an app? Or can all 81xxseries pearls able to do via an app?

Sorry for the noobish question, this is my first post. And have tried a search but with mixed results.

P.S. I have taught myself so much in the past month with this phone. Never had anything like this. The best phone ever!
