Try removing the battery and relacing it after 30 secs or so.

If this does not fix the problem then we need to look at wiping the device and re-installing the Operating System. This is not hard to do and I have full instructions.

It is also possible, I hope not, that the phone has a hardware problem. If so, playing with software will not resolve the situation.

Please get back here once you have completed the battery pull.

Ok, you've got 2 threads on this. Does the Pearl ever boot up? Have you tried using your charger so you can eliminate it being a battery problem? If it's definitely not a battery problem and it never boots, then follow my guide. You'll probably have to start at the wipe process, but if your lucky you'll be able to retrieve what data you have on your device already.

Upgrade Guide for the 8100, step by step from A to Z

Try downloading CrackUtil and wiping the device. It's free and you can get it from here CrackUtil.

You can also try wiping with CrackMem http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/crac...eleased-52044/. CrackMem uses a different program to wipe the device.

If you can wipe your phone, then maybe we can get a new OS installed.

Go to the Blackberry 101 link in my signature. You are going to want to use the link on that page labeled "How To Install an OS on a nuked Blackberry"

If you read through my guide, I list the specific steps necessary to get the device recognized.

Quick Question, I have followed the 101 how to on Nuked Blackberry's and during the process my phone disconnected and started flashing red again, while reconnecting and disconnecting. Now the phone is wiped and I need an OS for it. Only problem is that I have an unlocked t-mobile pearl 8100 that I got from ebay and am using it on a rogers plan in Canada.
I tried to install the rogers OS to my phone and it tells me that it's not the right one and when I try to download the OS from t-mobile it asks me for a 10-digit t-mobile phone number (which clearly I don't have).

Can anyone help me? I'm stuck with a pearl with no OS (Error: 507)

You have 2 things you need to do, both found in my guide. If you use CrackMem, you will see a button to delete the vendor.xml, that is a must with anything other than your carrier OS. The other is when you have wiped there are procedures to the PC and device that must be followed. Read through the guide, and I'm sure you will be successful.

Forgive me, I looked again, and realized you are not the OP. Scroll up a couple posts, or go to the top of the 8100 forum, and you'll find my guide.

Default Help!!

Ok so i have a bold... it went swimming... i got it almost back to life...

I can get the hour glass to go and then it goes to the rogers screen and just stops...

I did see it go all the way and load the os once but the battery was dead and it hasn't been back there no matter what i do...

Is there any hope for this phone? if it is a hardware problem loading the os, can i have it fixed? is there a certain part that may need repairing?

Anyone with a helpful reply, i really really appreciate.

Ladypants, I'll reply, but IDK how helpful. Berries don't fare well at scuba, and chances are you've cooked something on your board. You can have it repaired be RIM, but it's gonna cost some bucks.

Wipe your phone, put a brand new OS on it.
