Default Can Admin really save the BB messenger messages?

Our work has given us access to use our BB messenger (since texts have been taken away) but some people say they save our messenger messages on the server...

Can that really be done?

BBM uses PIN messages. PINs can be logged. msherro gave you some very sage advice.

Dependig on your location and/or industry, not only can it be logged, it may be that it MUST be logged.

My company logs them. Not sure if it's always the same but we actually see Sent messages in our email outbox called "bbmlog" as it emails all our activity in to the server database. Our process is very transparent as every user can see that they are being tracked. All IT is like this as well, we have software with the capability to track every keystroke on every computer and the users know that IT can do this. They also know that no one ever looks at it unless there's a problem hence a reason to look.

I think all people with company owned BBs is to be careful what they type. Kinda like a 5th grade teacher taking a handwritten note that passed along in the classroom. basically if you don't pay the bill for the device, chances are you don't have much privacy rights.
