Default BB restore w/out BES server

I work with sales reps that store personal contacts as well as professional contacts on their BB's. Our company doesn't provide phones to our reps but does allow them to connect to the BES server. If a rep leaves the company it is policy to clear all contact and business info off their BB's before they leave. The question has come up that if this is done can they restore their BB from a backup to get their contacts back. They are not concerned with keeping company contacts but their personal contacts. If their phone is removed from the BES server and they do a restore, will they be able to get their contacts back?

Thanks.

Yes, should be no problem. Did the very same thing myself. Wiped the handset and afterwards I backed up from outlook all my personal contacts. Just cant get rid of the annoying device lock it policy, but I'll be starting a new thread for that mind.

CHeers,
