I just read from Gizmodo that at&t is selling the bb torch for half the price from $199.00 to $99.00 for a 2 year contract. Can somebody confirm this?

If this is so, it's not yet listed on their website. it still shows as 199.00 for me.

However, if they do drop it, I will be unimaginably excited.

I suggest you go to Gizmodo.com and check out their message regarding this half price for bb 9800. It's too good to be true!

Could it be that ATT is responding the Amazon & Wirefly who were ALREADY selling it for 99?

I'm rather confused. I have seen no OFFICIAL announcement from RIM or AT&T about a price cut. Gizmodo and some other places are creating news about the fact that amazon, etc are selling the Torch at $99. Which a lot of people knew about from launch day. With certain restrictions you can get it for $99, and this is not news to a lot of people.

How is this a price cut if it was the launch price at specialized retailers ? RIM is just getting a crap load of bad press and I feel bad for them. Quite undeserved.
