Default (storm) OS 5 and the accelerometer

I've posted this question in the storm OS discussion already (so sorry if you've read this elsewhere), but I'm hoping there is a different crowd of people here that may know something. Does anyone know if OS 5 will give us the option to ignore the accelerometer for certain applications/functions? 4.7 ignores it on the dial pad screen and during calls. If you're looking at the dial pad in portrait and you rotate to landscape, the dial pad stays in portrait. Then, while still in landscape, when you bring up application switcher and select the homescreen, it will pop up already in landscape. Because of that, it seems that RIM has already coded a way for certain applications to ignore the accelerometer - it's not that it's disabling it, it just continues to display in portrait even though you've rotated it.

I'm hoping that future builds will give the user the option to ignore the accelerometer in all OS apps or even globally, so that the phone will remain in whatever orientation you choose unless you manually tell it to re-orientate. Has anyone heard of anything like this being implemented in future builds? I combed through the list of OS 5 changes and did not see anything regarding the accelerometer addressed, but maybe someone knows more?

I though OS 5 was only for the Bold and Curve (that would be why there's no Accelerometer fix yet). Is there a OS 5 coming out for the Storm?

Those are just the devices that have had it leaked.

Thanks, I thought the Storm OS development has ended with the latest 122 and 141, but I'm glad OS 5 is coming out for the Storm, I'm guessing no one knows of any dates when it comes out?
