MSN still does NOT work on most devices ..it needs to be provisioned on RIM's side and having the service books does not work it will load MSN but you will get server connection errors if your device does not support it, but thats Ok..jivetalk makes up for it anyways lol
Jivetalk is great but I think it's ridiculous we have to pay extra for something so basic; every other phone out there has this functionality out of the box... Oh well.

I don't know about that. I'm here after having a Sidekick for years, and Sidekick is known for having great IM support. But Jivetalk is more powerful and performs better than the Sidekick IM clients. I don't know how many other phones support AIM file transfer "out of the box" for example. The Sidekick doesn't. And there are still plenty that don't support Google Talk, which is becoming one of the most popular IM services, thanks to the popularity of Google Mail itself.
Like John, I experimented with the IM clients that came bundled with my Curve, and deleted them in favor of JT.
I'm using a BlackBerry 8800 on T-Mobile UK and after clicking 'Download' on the MSN/Live page I get...
HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error

I have a 8300 and I have been able to install Google Talk but have not been successful with AOL IM. I am receiving the "Your Device does not meet the system requirements" error message.
i LOVE Sprint! I don't have to use any other app, or buy them. I can use Yahoo and AIM without any tweaking or buying something else.
When I had Cingular and the 8100, I used JiveTalk and the othe popular app, and it was cool... but nothing compeares to the original.

I have Jive Talk and love it, have used it forever. I use AIM the most so I downloaded the free version since I am no Sprint and I really like it. Granted it is not as smooth looking as Jive and it doesn't keep me logged into all the services at once, I love how it integrates with Messaging link BB Messenger does..... that is killer for me. Wish I could do that with Jive.
Also wish I could try the MSN free app, but it won't let me...
