The 44.95 plan is for those who use thier blackberries with a corporate BES (blackberry enterprise server) so they can get thier corporate email, calendar items, to-do's, memo's and contacts sync'ed between thier device and the corporate system.

Since the non-corporate person who only wants it for email doesn't need (or use) all that, they gave us the $29.99 plan which gives us web and email only (no ability to link to a BES server).

The Curve appears to be the real deal. the footprint is awesome compared to the other BB's. Where did you hear it is going to be released in January? Hopefully it will be in Q1 of 2008.

This is my first post and I appreciate all the information you guys have put on this site as it has helped me with my decision to wait for a possible curve on for verizon, even though this is a sprint thread. It sucks that I can't update it with info because i'm just a regular customer, but I check back everyday for news. As others have said here, bring on that curve....

Well I'm close to several sprint reps, and none of them were able to confirm any news on a new blackberry. I was told they are shifting thier focus to those powersource phones (work on both sprint/nextel network).

So then I asked would there be a powersource blackberry??? and I was told there is a powersource PDA coming out june-july, but they could not confirm if it was a blackberry or not.

Also I have a treo 700p on the sprint network and my main phone and a BB curve on T-mobile as my 2nd line, and I love the both, but if the Treo had a better email service i would have never got the blackberry

went into a sprint nextel store and asked what they had for nextel bb. they stated the 7100I but didn't recommend it due to the rumor of a new nextel blackberry in a month !!! They told me to come back in a month for a new device. That makes me think the curve with q-chat could be what they are talking about.

I don't want to sound like a negative Nancy, but if you went into the store today and was looking at getting a new BB and they told you that there is going to be a "new" BB next month its probably to make you come back next month so it will go to his commission next month and not this month because he probably hit is quota for the month. Take it from some one that DID that ALL the time! Its all about that $$$$ I would "sand bag" the customer to next month if they were going to get a smartphone so I would get a good jump on my quota! So I would bet my next paycheck thats what he did.

BGR is saying the curve is in the sprint computer system. Found this a the post above. He has allways been correct in the past so I tend to believe this one. Now the question is 30-90 days out?.... hmmm....

Well I didn't have much choice because another week or two and my Treo would have been destroyed in a fit of rage so I went with the Pearl. If given a preference the Curve would have been the way to go I think.
Then again 10 more months and I am probably leaving Sprint anyway - I like the pricing but mine and my wife's coverage stinks (we get poor signal at home and she gets a really poor signal at work).

I spoke to some one in sprint customer service and still no info about the curve release date . I love my sprint service but they are on the brink of losing a loyal customer if they don't start getting better phones . I already contacted other provider that have the curve. I'll give it to the summer then I'm making the switch

They are usually the last to know, so don't lose hope yet. Per tritan's post above, the SKU is in the Sprint system, so that's the best sign it's coming in the next 30-60 days.

Default Sprint Curve to be announced during Superbowl

Can anyone confirm?

Letters from marketing indicate a large promotional campaign - super bowl is about a big as one can get.
