Default BlackBerry Tops Mobile Web Browsing

Mobile web marketing outfit AdMob has released a report on global smartphone traffic for last month.

According to the report, 34% of mobile web traffic came from, you guessed it, a BlackBerry (and in most cases a Pearl). Running in a close second with 29% of handheld web access was global handset market leader Nokia of Finland, and at the bottom of the scale it was another disappointment for Motorola who picked up just 1%.

Where the stats become a little more interesting is in respect of the iPhone where no actual figures were produced (iPhone pay off for a gagging order)?? Apparently iPhone traffic for February had “flattened” though, which falls in line with other reports that (now the hype and honeymoon is over) people have lost interest in the Jesus Phone.

Sony Ericsson claimed the top spot in the UK with 37% of all ad requests.

Default Blackberry with Windows Mobile

Microsoft is giving BlackBerry serious competition with the biggest Windows Mobile deal to date…

According to Bloogberg.com, Microsoft Corp. won a deal with the U.S. Census Bureau for mobile device software on over 500,000 devices.

Lets put this into perspective. There are an estimated 3 to 3.5 million BlackBerry devices total in the United States. Microsoft just won a deal, that they are expected to announce today, for half a million Windows Mobile devices at one customer.

I bet a BlackBerry that runs Windows Mobile doesn’t sound half bad to BlackBerry investors about right

Default 7130c

Cingular and Research in Motion are holding 6 launch events in 6 different cities across the U.S. where Cingular will unveil their latest BlackBerry device that we believe is the BlackBerry 7130c.

The invitation doesn’t actually say that the BlackBerry 7130c is the device being unveiled, however, the 7130c is the only new BlackBerry device from Cingular that we know of to have pictures all over web.

The first Blackberry 7130c launch event will be held June 13th in Houston and you can register for it or one of the other 5 events
