I know the difference... Actually I try and type properly as much as I can
You're = Is when the sentence would read "You Are"
Your = Is basically for everything else.
Or there, their and they're
I don't really care though, I know what they mean This thread will probably get closed because we have several going on the English language already Just gotta wait for the mods....
I thought this was posted in an off-topic, social forum. Why would the mods close this?

It is definitely off-topic, so it would not be closed for that reason. The reason it will most likely get closed is due to so many of these "proper grammar" threads showing up on CB. Really, this could have fallen under any of the other threads that discussed such grammatical woes.
There may be a bunch of threads about this already, but I still agree with the OP! Poor grammar is my biggest pet peeve of them all! It gives me hives.

Mine as well. However, must we discuss it to the point of ad nauseam on CB?
you know, posting double threads is actually against the rules (search "bad grammar" or "english language" and you'll find about 100 threads).. see http://forums.crackberry.com/f39/pos...uidelines-113/ . ignorance of the english language is not.
*bounces up and down with hand raised, a la Hermione*
Ooh, ooh, ooh, I know! I know! *I've* never, since being taught in early elementary school, mistaken a your or you're, or a there, their, or they're! Can I sit at the front of the class?? 8-B

The poor grammar/spelling threads have been done way too many times. People don't care what you or I think of their inability to distinguish between "their" and "they're".

As always my friend, your right.

Well, since we are in a grammar thread, it's "genius".
I think the "genious" usage was for ironic flair. Usually, people use that spelling of "genius" to comment on the lack thereof said attribute. Yet, I could be wrong since I am still intoxicated.

I'm with ya. It gets my underwear all, well, you know, twisted.
