Arrow Public Beta open for SMS Viewer

Dear All,
We've been working on a cool new app for SMS! (see the attached image for illustration) Following the private beta at the forums the app is now open for Public Beta.

In case you are interested in trying out a pre-release app, please proceed to www.getempower.com to install the product. Installing from the web will also ensure that I can notify you when the app goes live.

In case you want no notification, just point your BlackBerry Browser to www.getempower.com/beta/sms/ to install the app directly.

Looking forward to your feedback, comments, suggestion etc..

Best,
Ani.

Thanks. I downloaded it. Are there any more themes to the viewer window or just the blue one with the smilies?

Same here. I think it's because the app is an SMS Viewer and not an SMS Chat app. It's a pity, I'd like to have the ability to select smileys when I'm replying rather than having to write them out long hand....

The threaded sms doesn't update automatically. It seemed I had to back out of the app then click on the next message in the thread then it would show up.

Also on the screen shot that is posted in the thread it has Send and Back buttons at the bottom. Mine does not contain that. I also don't see the location of the app. Most of the apps I download go into the download folder on my 9530.

I would love chat app..this isn't it unfortenly.
RIM must be putting lock and chain keeping developers from building such app.
I'm Taking a pass on sms VIEWER

It's not a threaded sms app.

I don't see the Send & Back buttons at the bottom either. I don't see a download either but I'm guessing it's because the app is integrated with the SMS app.

It just fluffs up the sms view... I can kinda live without that.. If it refreshed instantly as mentioned above like a realtime chat window, now that would be kinda cool.. I'll pass on this one..

i haven't downloaded it but it looks like it's from the guys over at empower (who make the html email viewer.) i have the empower html email viewer, which i think is tremendous, but it does the same thing that you guys are describing here with the SMS app - when i type an email from scratch or reply to one, it's in the native blackberry screen. only when i receive a new email does it show up in html.

there have been many discussions about a threaded sms app for years and it always comes back to something on a developer level that i don't understand... something about a part of the OS that RIM locks developers out of.

sorry guys.
