From the beginning of this thread your posts have sounded like an advertisement. I would be willing to bet you either work for or are being paid by the company releasing this app. | Dear Sir,
Thanks for your comment.
No one can buy a honest customer just like Elfaure. So please give us some respects. Many thanks.

NetworkAcc is definitely different from those applications which do nothing for BB systems. You could also take a look at another application called 'MemoryBooster' from S4BB Limited, which even has the same software box with 'batterybooster'. 'MemoryBooster' from S4BB is a poor copycat of my company's best selling application 'MemoryUp Pro'. 'MemoryBooster' even steals the design of interface from MemoryUp Pro. But the most important difference is that 'MemoryBooster' from S4BB Limited does nothing, while our product really does what it says.
So on behalf of eMobiStudio, I appreicate a lot for your kind assistance.

dear sir,
you tell me (respectfully at least) what not to say when you just did the same thing you were telling me not to do. I think you should look at your business practices before criticizing other people's opinions and getting tastelessly defensive about your apps (low blow there, btw) when other ones happen to be mentioned in name only. what you choose to think about other people's apps is fine, but the whole "do as I say, not as I do" thing doesn't fly.
so if I offended you or made you defensive in any way, sorry, my bad, I thought I had a right to my opinion
so on behalf of ninja please, I appreciate a lot for your kind assistance.
ninja from ninja please
P.S. that's very unfortunate about them stealing your work, you should challenge them to a mean game of thumb wrestling and settle it fair and square. in a game of wit and brawn, there can be only one.

Hi guys,
There's been a lot of controversy about this app so it's time something was said, especially since it seems to violate a number of ethical standards, and by all accounts is probably criminal. Without going into detail, I'll just say I've been developing on the BlackBerry platform since the BlackBerry was in its infancy.
I ran the app through a debugger watching its every step. There's a couple of key points. Firstly, as already mentioned, this is a MIDP app and doesn't utilize any of the RIM CLDC apis. That in itself is already enough to guarantee that what they claim is impossible. The second point, which is probably the most important to understand, it that 3rd party applications have absolutely no control over how the device actually connects to the network besides being able to specify the network route and security settings at a very high level. Even then, you can only affect your OWN application in this manner.
The app does absolutely NOTHING related to network operations. If you see any network gains after running this app, I promise you, those are perceived, not real.
I'm only going to say this once for Daniel and for everyone else that is working with him. What you are doing is criminal, and you need to stop. You are taking advantage of technical ignorance and making a profit off an application that does nothing.
I would hope that organizations like mobihand and crackberry would remove this application from their storefronts immediately.
I also had a look at MemoryUp. All that application does is call System.gc() periodically. Again, there are a couple reasons why this is useless. Firstly, if the system is running low on resources, it will perform a full GC anyways. Second, calling System.gc() does not guarantee anything. The VM will determine when to do the garbage collection. And last but not least, the VM has a much better idea of what is going on with memory than any 3rd party app ever could, and the VM will employ some smart heuristics to do garbage collections at the appropriate times.
I'm actually shocked that MemoryUp made it onto app world given the talk Mike Kirkup (Technical lead of the BlackBerry Alliance program at Research In Motion) gave at the developer conference last Autumn about how 3rd party apps can't really affect memory at all.
Maybe they should be notified of the mistake...

^^^^ Great info. I certainly won't be buying any products from emobistudio and will recommend that others stay away from them as well.

From the beginning of this thread your posts have sounded like an advertisement. I would be willing to bet you either work for or are being paid by the company releasing this app. | Not the case. A copy of an email I sent to Robert regarding this post and all the hype:
"The only thing that I have not expected is that we have brought you into this campaign, which is somewhat cruel. I feel sincerely sorry about this".
Hi Robert-
Please do not feel this way. This is not the case at all. I post regularly and post a few reviews on Crackberry. I freely and with unbiased intentions posted my review of NetworkAcc and defend my statements about the review simply to substantiate my credibility. I have no ulterior motives nor do I work or expect compensation from Emobistudios. I am just like every other BB user, simply wanting a fast and stable platform, and wanting to share positive experiences with others.

Man, this is getting ugly. Who has tried this app on Sprint, with an 8xxx running OS 4.5.0.131, and the 3G network connection type with BIS? I swear its not my imagination. What I see with my speedtest is that the download maintains much nearer the "max download speed" than without it running. Actually ramps up after start as opposed to ramping down. Obviously its not increasing bandwidth. That's not possible.
Maybe its some "tweeks" similar to those well documented for Mozilla Firefox, like typing "about:config" in the address bar, and setting "network.http.pipelining" to true instead of false for example. Or pointing your carrier at a different (faster) server. There can be significant differences for different areas, for the same carrier. Check it out. The carrier has settings that are not set by default because they don't want you hogging their bandwidth. In fact, its there mission to minimize each connection. It only makes sense so they can get the maximum number of users per pipe. Same reason they don't want you "tethering" without paying extra.
So I hear, they are going to offer a trial soon so you can check it out for yourself. Works for me.

It's just not possible. | First let me say sorry to anyone that read this review and was influenced to buy this software. Apparently the jury is still out and far from hung. Second let me say that after some investigation of my own (that I should have done prior to both purchasing and writing this review) I am now very skeptical. Not just on the apps performance, but on the company background, its award claims, etc. I don't like at all what I am reading. I think I may have been "Shang Hei'd".
Before installing NetworkAcc I had a serious phone issue. It was a JVM 547 Error: Flash Write Failure, I was able to scroll thru some recovery options and found "delete persistent store", did it, got the phone back, and with a lot more memory. After that I restored selected data bases and here I sit.
But with about 10 more Mb (did not restore all databases like logs). So what I noticed in performance gains may very well be related to finding 10 more Mb of memory and not the software I installed.
After reading all of your feedbacks, educated statements and links about what is possible and not possible for third party apps and their interaction with the OS, API, and JVM (thanks for the heads up) I have uninstalled both apps and am finding my performance increase is still there. Its my extra memory guys. I used to boot into 18Mb and now its 28Mb. That alone is the reason for my increased snappyness and media browsing (I think).
I have really been bothered by this whole experience and will now leave the app reviewing to those that have the skills, tools, and knowledge to do so. I'm just your average user and seek to eventually become an experienced one. I was just trying to help others, but as we all know the blind leading the blind is no help at all.
Thanks to all you experienced users for setting this post straight. I have now learned that since I have two eyes and only one mouth, I should learn to use them in that proportion. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. I'm really sorry.

Why can't I just let it go? I couldn't. So I did some serious digging. This is very interesting. Can someone worthy take a look here and see if this is related to the NetworkAcc claims (I think it is). MANET?
