There's a good discussion of this going on in the Bold forum, with a useful poll:

I realize you're not using a Bold, but as far as I know, all of them will run on your 8900 too.

I like BBWeather... the only thing I think it's lacking is a location based on my GPS location.

You need MyCast... its $3.99/month... sucks, but it gives you exactly what you're asking for...

Weatherbug is a good app...some people don't like it because it runs in the background on your phone. But, it gives you everything your asking for.

Does anyone know of a weather app that gives you animated radar? That's one thing weatherbug does not.

I like berry weather, but it sucks my battery dry. I haven't found the right combination of timely updates and battery usage. For the time I have gone back to weatherbug direct. It is nice but not as pretty as berry weather.

I was doing 2 hours but that didn't seem to help much. Do you update the severe weather alerts every 3 hours also?

I have no battery issues using BerryWeather what-so-ever, and both eather and advisories are set to update every half hour for four different cities. Are you sure it's what's causing the issue? If so, have you tried the latest beta? I'm running 1.0.49 and if you read the change log, the major changes to the last couple of versions were all bug fixes. Lots of improvement to memory management and battery usage. More accurate and less chance of erroneous info as well.

Normally I try not to make responses like this anymore, but this really does have to be one of the top 5 most frequently asked questions around here. There are 28 threads with the words "best weather" back-to-back in the subject line, amongst hundreds that just include weather.
