Default Apps that scan UPC or barcodes....

My friends who have the G1 phone have this app that allows them to scan UPCs from the market and compare prices from around the area for products, etc....are there any apps for Blackberry that allow you to do that? or any kind of apps that allow you to scan things???

I haven't seen one but it would be nice. Windows Mobile also has a similar app. Came in handy last year Christmas shopping.

Well with the new BBM we now know it's easy enough to "scan" QRcodes. I certainly hope a third party app would be available shortly, I'd love for it to be integrated with say Froogle.

I too have been searching / waiting for an app like this. There was a few out there that could do it, but the development out there has come to a halt for some reason. I've been using the Amazon app, in its place thus far, so far, so good!

Haven't looked into this, just saw "bar code reader" + "free" so I'm linking it here for you to check out.
