Default Delete "pictures" on 7290?

Just changed from an s1 to a 7290 and am waaaaayyyy happy! However, I'd like to lose as many icons from the homescreen as possible. To that aim I need to know whether using filemanager to remove the "pictures" file is going to screw the os up. Any clues dudes?

It won't, use BB SAK or CrackUtil, and delete the cod file net_rim-something-backdrops.

It will save you some memory. Also, you can delete a few of the themes you don't use, just back them up first.
