- I have the Journal Case, and it has its strong points. For ex: it has a way nicer feel (atleast to me), comes with a strap (which I think it adds style, along with keeping it shut), a more sturdier case as well.
Here's it in a more comfortable position for typing/viewing. Also great for using the ports.

I do notice (if you use it in this style) that'll cause a bulge in the leather, but its really no big deal.

The rest are just some other shots.

The cons to this: its a little more expensive, and doesn't have as many conveniences.
I find the rest to be about the same. Funny I find myself using this case mostly upside down. The BB logo looks better on this one to. Its really up to you though, I find myself preferring style over convenience.Last edited by Venichie; 05-29-11 at 09:19 PM.
05-29-11 08:57 PMLike 0 - As posted in another thread , I have the convertible case and have modified it to be able to use the charging stand without taking it out of the case. I don't see how you could do this with a journal case.
I like the convertible case because it doesn't add much bulk to the PlayBook and it can be a stand. Pics of modification attached. Note: the last pic is with the case on the charging stand. The piece removed does not compromise the integrity of being able to hold the PlayBook in properly.
I like the naked playbook for my two weeks, but if wanted to carry it around with me more, and just be able to throw it into a bag need a case.
Our Ipad 1 we got the covertible case and its very similar to the BB convertible case in function, thinness and material.
But at work, want to use the PB as a digital picture frame in addition to being bridged, and although most likely get through the day without a charge, I like the charging pod idea...but taking something in and out of a case (where it snaps in) probably wears over time.
Will try the convertaible case alone at work as a frame...if I can get through with not needing a charge and it looks ok, will probably return the pod...if not, out come the scissors to do the same as you did.05-30-11 12:30 AMLike 0 -

ICON case type of convertible case is much better than original convertible case.05-30-11 11:59 AMLike 0 -

- I wanted the Journal but they were out so I tried convertible 1st till the Journal came out, as soon as the journal was instock I traded them. For one it matches my leather pouch for my Torch, two, I like the feel better, third the cover sits flush (convertible was bowed). fourth, the elastic to keep it closed was the main deciding factor.05-30-11 03:24 PMLike 0
- i am buying the Vaja case tonight. Since i am falling out of love with my PB it might make me wanna stick with her if I buy her an over priced jacket!05-30-11 11:52 PMLike 0
- wow, what a healthy thread. where are all the trolls? this is strange... so much sensible talk happening.... sigh.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-31-11 12:02 AMLike 0 - I ordered a journal case after reading posts about it and seeing one in person. It looks really classy. Should be here Tuesday. Walmart.com has them for $40.
Did I really just write Walmart and classy in the same textbox?
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-31-11 01:37 AMLike 0 - I went for the Convertible because of the ability to well convert! But I don't think you could go wrong with either case.05-31-11 03:05 PMLike 0
- well... I ended up with convertible case. i tried the journal and didnt like the way it feels in hand. The tough leather and the texture i didnt like, so i went for a convertible. Also i thought that the half detach case part from the back does not flop around like i expected it to.05-31-11 07:54 PMLike 0
