[Reply] 4.2 is the official newest. 4.5 for the 8830 is still currently in beta and not officially released on any carrier.

[Reply] To easily upgrade your phone's Operating System you need 3 seperate programs installed on your PC
1. The new OS. Get it from here
Newest 8330 OS: v4.5.0.89 (Multilanguage)
2. Desktop Manager, preferrable v4.6 with no media manager from here

Install CrackMem and then read the Help file as it contans a step-by-step guide to upgrading your phone. However you really should familiarize yourself with the phone and read a bit on CrackBerry before you attempt this.

[Reply] Read this first before going to such measures, some of the bugs look to be quite annoying if you actually use a bb as it is intended. If you just like being cool and hip, these bugs prob won't bother you.

as of right now, i am having enough trouble with the memory on my device, so i wont be attempting this anytime soon. at list until i get this squared away.

[Reply] That's from my site - keep in mind those bugs were from a very early leaked beta of OS 4.5. Nearly all of them (except for one nasty one with HTML email and BB messenger) have been fixed with the latest releases. I've been running OS 4.5 for 6 months now with virtually no issues in the latest releases.
