I am using the 8520 with AT&T. This morning I got two e-mail messages in my personal e-mail (through Cox Communications), which I also pick up on my BB. Does this look legit? If so, what should I expect to occur next?

Those messages are associated with a BES account. If you just installed / reinstalled Desktop Manager, it means you incorrectly selected the BES installation instead of the BIS installation. The messages will continue to be delivered until you uninstall Desktop Manager and reinstall it correctly with the BIS option.
