seeming randomly. AT&T had no idea how to turn it off. Speaks even when the phone is on vibrate. Often in the middle of the night when the phone is not moving.

    Any ideas?

Nope. But that would scare the sh** outta me! *lol*

Take it to the corporate store or call customer care. They'll have to know what's up with it!

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. I'm sorry though, that I have no idea what could fix it. I hope that you find a fix soon because that would drive me nuts.

Waiting to see if the battery pull helps. I can't get it to speak on demand so it's just a matter of waiting. It is creepy and it does scare the you know what out of me at night! BTW Customer Care never heard of this problem so they were no help.

Windows Mobile has an audible sound that it makes when it goes in and out of cell coverage, or roaming.. you can turn it on and off.. there's gotta be a way to do it on the BB.. I've NEVER seen this before, but doesn't mean it's not possible..worst case, wipe and start over. =)

Maybe your phone has the chip from the Terminator T100 and it's self learning as I type this. The next thing it will be telling you is your speeding on the freeway.

Is this a known feature for AT&T Blackberries? Sounds crazy, I don't know who would want that feature, except old people, lol.

I have heard this on my blackberry when I have a gps program running. sometimes it would loose the signal and when it found it again it would say out loud, you now have cell service. I dont remember which gps service I was using at the time it would happen but that would be a place to check.
