Went to the movies today and saw a poster on the window that looked exactly like a bbm barcode took my bold out and scanned it and it took me to a web site that allowed me to watch the clip to that new movie 9 thats coming out next month. Its funny that bbm 5.0 isnt even official yet and they have these things out. It was pretty cool to see this though. here is the pic

Odd question, how did you "scan" it?

The barcodes (qr codes) have been around for years now, but they've mostly been relegated to industrial uses (warehouse cataloging, mail processing, etc.). It's only been in the last few years that mobile barcode scanning and consumer use of the codes has been building in momentum. Hopefully this is just the beginning, I think it's an awesome use of technology and I can't wait to see how it evolves!

you can download a prog from scanlife and then you can take a picture of it and the program will read it

(prog is free, they also allow you to create up to 3 for free iirc)

if u have bbm 5.0 go to there then to add contact then scan barcode.......

I scaned it and it took me to the web site but would not play the video, said I had to save it first. I did so but would not let me save it to my SD card. Oh well it did play after I saved it, if I went to the media player to play it that is. I deleted it after..

Thought this was neat will look for more..
