| |  CrackBerry.com Has 300,000 Members!
Wow! That didn't take long. We hit the 200,000 member milestone on June 23rd, 2008, and just two months and a couple days later we are at 300,000!
Congrats to TetClececrurL, our 300,000th member! And you will all want to watch the blogs and for your CrackBerry.com Newsletter on Wednesday. We'll be holding a special event to celebrate this wicked CrackBerry.com milestone!
And while I have your attention... I just want to take this time to thank all of our awesome CrackBerry.com members who have helped make this site the awesome community it is. CrackBerry.com really is a community (though with 300k members I think we can probably call ourselves a City!). And like any city, we have a ton of diversity here. Experts and Newbies, Young and Old and every age in Between, Guys and Gals, Sports Fans and Techno Geeks (sometimes those are one and the same). You name it, CB has got it.
Like any growing community, as things get bigger and bigger, they don't necessarily get better. It seems too often to me these days that people don't view the diversity and uniqueness we have here as the great thing that it is. instead of respecting others views/opinions, people get lashed out at. This really irks me, and as we grow to 500,000 members and above we need to keep CrackBerry.com strong to its roots. Here's a reminder of our rule of Basic Member Conduct:
Play Nice, Be Helpful, and have Respect!
This means keep the language clean, keep your posts polite, and don’t get into arguments over dumb things. If somebody responds to a thread you posted in poor fashion, ignore it, and the moderation team will quickly clean it up (you can always message or email a moderator at any time if you observe anything that is in poor taste/against the rules). Think back to what your parentals and teachers used to lecture - if you don't have something nice to say to another member (on or off the forums), don't say anything at all.
Always remember that we are all unique and at different levels here - some of us are experienced BlackBerry users and forum junkies, while others are just starting out. If you’re on the experienced side, have patience for those just joining in on the fun and be helpful. With a little patience and a little help they won’t be newbies for long. Also remember that it is our differences that keeps this place interesting. If everyone was from the same place and at the same experience level it would be boring. This is a worldwide community united by a common interest - our love, or addiction as some would call it, for the BlackBerry!
As we celebrate the 300k mark, let's keep the above in mind and work to keep this a big happy family on our own where we all get along (without need to turn CB into a moderated police state). Welcome New members, help them and show them the ropes so they can be the best members of tomorrow! Existing members remember - Play Nice, Be Helpful and Have Respect. Let's keep spreading the CrackBerry.com word as we all have been doing and CrackBerry.com will continue to be the #1 Site for BlackBerry Users (& Abusers!) for a long time to come!

Well said!!! The site is great, and is great to know its growing. I´ve been a memeber since april, and the short ride has been amazing and hopefully the ride will turn to be 4life.
