Default Changing email account

I've just changed over my email to a new provider and they support IMAP which I believe means my emails will get pushed to me quicker via BIS. At first I just logged in and changed the mail server as the username and password are still the same as they were. This showed the account as POP and I was still subject to the 15 and 3 minute checks and pushes.

I then deleted the account and re-set it up. At first I entered the username and password and BIS automatically configured it for me. All good I thought except it came back as POP again.

I deleted this account and set it up again, this time just entering the username and leaving the password field blank forcing BIS to allow me to configure it manually. I followed this and again it's come back as POP.

I've checked on my hosts site and it says the mail server is pop.username.com for both POP3 and IMAP. IMAP is enabled but BIS keeps using POP rather than IMAP.

Anyone got any ideas on resolving this and having it set up as IMAP?

Who is your email provider? Are you adding this email through your berry or through BIS directly through your carrier's website?

The email has just switched over to domain.com. I've logged into orange.blackberry.com on Internet Explorer to add the account.
