    Hi all,

Many users were asking for a way to go back to the previous BBM, so Here you all go. I've provided a zipped file link containing the COD files to BBM 5.0.0.57. I tried uploading the file here but it kept saying upload failed so I uploaded it to 4shared and shared the link. Also, OTA download links for different OSes and Devices are provided at the end of this post ( hopefully they don't expire ).

    BBM 5.0.0.57.zip

    How to install COD files:

    1. Right click on the zipped file and select '' Extract Here ''
    2. Download an application called BBSAK
    3. Run BBSAK
    4. On BBSAK, go to Modify CODs tab
    5. Click on install COD(s)
    6. Direct it to the extracted folder ( BBM 5.0.0.57 )
    7. Select all COD files ONLY
    8. Click Open/ok

Your phone will reboot after the installation is over . . .

    OTA Links
BBM 5 OTA Download OS 5.0 for all devices or Here

BBM 5.0.0.57 OTA Download for 9700, 8900 and 9000 OS 5.0 or Here

    Awesome, thanks man.

From the girlfriends 5.0.1.38 not getting installed correctly (icon refuses to show up, program doesn't load, but shows up under installed applications), and the bug discovered that somehow allows others to join a private chat, I've been needing this downgrade to a stable version.

I'm not sure how 5.0.1.38 made it out of the beta zone.

Not to thread jack, but I also found OTA links for the older 4.5 and 4.7 if you really want to step back into the time machine a bit.

Hey, I could really use your help, guys.

I downloaded the latest bbm version last week, was working fine.

Then two days ago I updated my OS to 5.0, but once I rebooted, the bbm icon disappeared. I'm guessing they're not compatible or something?

I tried the OTA links here but received the '907 COD error' as well.

Then I downloaded the zip file and BBSAK to my phone. But I couldn't run either, it says "Unable to display".

I'm clueless right now. I've tried everything. I've been BBM-less for 2 days now. I'm starting to give up on my Blackberry. Help!

The only OTA link I tried was the download for all devices, since there isn't one for Curve 8520. Am I doing something wrong?

I wouldn't have upgraded my OS if I'd known it would cause problems with the bbm. I've also tried downgrading to OS 4.7 and 4.6 but so far no luck.

If you are running on OS 5, try the one for the 8900 and 9700 OS 5.0. It might work

That's what I was doing. I haven't yet gone to BBM 5.1.0.38. I just want to make sure I can downgrade if I don't like it.

Would the fact I already have .57 installed be causing the download to fail?
    08-24-10 06:15 AM
  25. Ahmed G.'s Avatar
Having the .57 installed has nothing to do with it failing. It usually asks ''would you like to replace. . . . . ''

Don't upgrade to the new one. Please!. Why would you want to anyway ? The .57 is the best BBM so far.

Because of so many users asking for a way to go back to the .57, I ended up creating a thread with the OTA links ( which looks like are not working properly with some users ;p) to the old BBM.
