Crucial Xtreme said that it wasn't the Atlas, that it was actually the Driftwood, but it clearly states in the about page that it's an Atlas.. so I guess I have a question for Crucial Xtreme: Did RIM rename the Driftwood to Atlas or is the Driftwood a completely different phone?

CX never said it wasn't the Atlas and he already said they renamed the Driftwood to the Atlas.
ok i'm lost now. what makes this a bold, the processor? keyboard is the curve keyboard, it's an edge only device. I always thought from the 9000 to the 9700 that those two factors is what make it a bold (keyboard & 3g) but this one has neither. can someone explain how this retained the bold brand name without sharing any of the qualities of a bold?
Screen like the Bold, with trackpad, but keyboard of the 8900 (I feel like the Bold keyboard is a little too soft for my taste). I don't care what number or name it has. Just make it CDMA for Verizon and I'm out handing over my $$ for it

The bold name probably has to do with where this device is positioned in the BB line up. It appears that rim is using the pearl brand for it's suretype devices, the curve name for it's low to mid range qwerty devices, and the bold name for it's high end devices. Make no mistake, this is a fairly high end device. It has wifi and gps, a high res screen, an autofocus cam, and a decent processor. The only thing it is missing is 3g and the leather battery door.
