I just tried the Tour's keyboard today and it felt great. Nice knowing that the dimensions on this device and the Tour are comparable.

Does anyone have info on the external speaker as in where it is and how it sounds? My 8900 speaker sounds much more tinny and with less bass than my Pearl 8120. Im hoping for a speaker with more boom on the 9700.

Both models were made, the one that will be the production model will have a trackpad i believe.

the trackball ones, from what i hear, will not function with software above a certain OS version, which could be a bummer for the people that have an onyx with a trackball.

Very nice, Phonegeek.... The Phoneking is impressed.

My only question: Where are the external charging ports? Will it support a charging dock?

From what I can tell, the two metal pieces towards the bottom of the phone (on the sides) are the charging ports.

    This is correct.

5.0.0.134 or even .136 are the last builds to work with the TB.

Hey phonegeek, can you respond to the speaker question? I would like to hear if the Onyx speaker is as good as the 83xx or better.

Very good review! I'm really looking forward to this device and its release on at&t. I hope RIM and at&t take a lot of the feedback that you and other field testers have provided and make this the best blackberry since the Bold.

wait so the version you tested had a trackpad, so does that mean it will most likely have a trackpad when released?

I have heard conflicting statements about the trackpad. I think there are field test units that have the trackpad, and units that have the trackball. When they determine which configuration is better for consumers, they will go with that.
