I personally would wipe the OS and re-install, but someone else has suggested booting into safe mode (if this started after installing a particular app) - then uninstall the offending app.

First, here is a link to a thread of mine which gives explanation's of App Errors--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/appl...s-list-211519/

If you have a white error screen you're not going to be able to back up the device. You can try an pull the battery and see if the device resets, or use the trackpad and scroll to the "reset" button below the error and see if it will reset properly.

I hope that you've backed up your device before. You always need to have a backup. If you've upgraded the device's firmware since you've had it, then there is a loader backup that you can use. Just search your computer for it. When the time is ready open DM>Backup/restore>find the loaderbackup file>select it and it will restore from that file.

Go here and find your carrier and get their latest--> BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites

Or you can get the latest official from the sticky atop the 9700 sub-forum--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f146/ne...t-asia-388001/

Once the device is unlocked, it's always unlocked. Up/downgrading will not change that at all.

If you need help with upgrading, check out this guide--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/ho...system-208714/
