I was wondering, this might be a dum question but i'm no BB expert, I see that AT&T Is using 0.6 OS. I am using Tmobile is it possible to download the new OS. from AT&T to my Tmobile 9700? I am using the os5.0.0.586 and im still having problems with this one as for my stand by button is not working, my browser is not working where it says GOTO I cant write anything in that box, only the top one where it has the www., any help on this...
TMO started rolling out .713 yesterday over the air. Do a wireless update: Options>Advanced Options>Wireless Update. Make sure your phone is plugged in, and that you have 2-3 hours where you won't need your phone.

They're using a hybrid that has a few (about 20) OS 6.0 files. It does nothing to improve speed, while 5.0.0.758 does, but will show as a 6.0 OS on Help Me and About.

This thread is silly speculation, and nothing more. It will be what it is, on what it is, when RIM says it is. Now please, continue guessing away....

    Lolll I know the Hybrid with 20 os 6 files from Williboy's hybrid and it's not 6.0.0.124, it's 6.0.0.31......
    That's why I'm asking what 6.0.0.124 is

hmmmm... VERY interesting... are you sure it was a 9700 and not the rumored 9780 (aka 9700a aka 9700 II aka Onyx Delta) ?

Interesting either way... if a plain 9700, then it's likely confirmation that the 9700 (and my 9700) will run OS 6... if a 9780, then cool as well!

Can someone tell me what is the big WOW thing in OS6? What I've seen is basically a theme change. Nothing major. I think they should be calling it OS5.1 or so.
It is something similar to Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition.
I don't understand what the big change is.

6.0 will have a webkit browser. Its not really a big deal, people are just obsessed with updating their bb and 6.0 is the "fix" they've been looking for.

Wow... RIM should really start looking out of the box now... Android and iOS are going to kill BB OS

Well there are other things but you said what is the "big" thing, and that is the major thing.

Android and ios are going to kill BB? hmmm, I didn't realize they were fighting.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 9700, I love RIM, but I see friends that have switched and when I compare androids and iPhones to my 9700.. mine looks dull, dumb, and slow.

BB's will never had the "wow" factor that the other phones have, and probably never will.

The original iPhone back in January 2007 had a GREAT browser running on a 412 MHz CPU. I know it's not a one-to-one CPU comparison to the 9700's CPU, but I just can't believe the 9700 (which is still a FANTASTIC device!) won't support OS6 on a hardware level.

So... for the record.... I am stating....

Yes, the Bold 9700 will have an official OS6 non-touch update with all the webkit browsing goodies.

The question is when. I am betting it will not be before ATT introduces the 9800 with 6.0 and THEN maybe we will see a OS6 for the 9700.

New OS's sells hardware so forget about getting it sooner!

I hope you're right, if they tried to give me a touch screen anything I'd dump BlackBerry, probably go back to the Moto V3 or some such....

Even through the miracle of OS6, the screen will not convert to touch. That would take powers of a higher authority.

I hope to G_d they release it soon. Ya'll are sliding off your rockers.

Honestly I'm fine with my 9700. I cant bring myself to live with a touchscreen device so give me the webkit browser and im golden for quite some time to come. Since it was shown on the 9700 I dont see why it wont be available for our phones whether it be in OS6 or a later version of 5.
