u'll might want to think which one u prefer more entertainment or more messaging..
iphone is for entertainment (at least that's why i need to buy one) and it's way more fun than blackberry
but if you want to have a messaging device then you should get blackberry, i prefer 9700 'coz of it's incredible battery life. So i dont need to plug my charger all the time. plus it has the latest tech, bigger flash memory and better memory management.
9000 is superb but 9700 is what i need right now..12-23-09 09:05 PMLike 0 - 1) Better speed and performance.

The OP was trying to decide between a 9000 and a 9700. Your reasons are great for choosing the 9700/9000 over the iPhone.12-23-09 09:08 PMLike 0 - having had both the 9000 and now the 9700, i would go for the 9700 for the reasons listed, and the battery life is so damn good on the 9700. It will put the Iphone battery to shame.12-23-09 09:17 PMLike 0
- 9700, hands down. Less you want to go to Verizon...then Storm2, another great phone. the 9700 destroys the 9000 in everyway I think. Coming from 9000 to this was a gooooooood upgrade. Can actually watch videos with no freezing or delays. It feels better in my hand, looks way better, the camera/video is awesome quality. Web surfing is fast, specially when on WiFi and easy. Good free apps for daily use. Go to the store and try both. The 9700 is way faster. The 9000 had 2 things though. Great nice big screen, and great keyboard for typing! The 9700 is a bit smaller with keys but still is fun and great to use! Hope something helped. Oh and the battery in the 9700 last MUCH longer than the 9000.12-23-09 10:26 PMLike 0

- One more for the 9700 - to add to all of the reasons above...... The form factor is beautiful and fits perfectly in the hand12-23-09 11:17 PMLike 0

- TLD1Retired ModeratorI went from my beloved 9000 Bold to the 9700 as an upgrade only a few days ago (Christmas eve) and have had a little problem getting getting over the 9000.
The 9700 is a bit sleeker, sexier and does feel better in the hand. It is faster by a little bit, and the camera is better...by the same little bit, nothing to get excited about. The build quality of my Made In Mexico 9700 is quite good, thankfully...since I had the sales rep in my store search the in stock units for one made in Canada like my 9000 was. Nothing wobbles or is loose (like the 9000 battery cover) and it feels solid and tight.
I like the new 5.0 OS as well...it's the same familiar BB OS with all the right things added. However...if you're patient (as I was not, apparently), no doubt the official 5.0 for the 9000 and other late-model BB's will drop soon too.
I am suprised that. I am getting along as well as I am with the much smaller keypad on the 9700. It is tiny...but within a few texts an an email, I was going as well on it as I was on my 9000.
The main issue for me...at least at this stage, is the trackpad vs. The trackball on my 9000. The trackpad is ultra sensitive and I have a problem being as accurate with it as I was the trackball on my 9000. But, several phone-friends have admonished me to give it a while longer...so I will.
Conclusion? The 9700 is a great BlackBerry...but I'm not sure I didn't make a mistake by selling my 9000 for it, honestly. The 9000 is a great BB...and if you can get one quite a bit cheaper than you can a 9700...I would go for it. Who knows? I might be going back myself...

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-27-09 08:06 AMLike 0 - I'll add that the battery life is indeed very good on the 9700 but at the same time people use the 9700 as a phone and the iPhone like a computer so that's why I don't think that we can really compare in an honest way (at battery level) both phones.12-27-09 09:15 AMLike 0
